There are many ways one could use Fengshui as a valuable tool to enhance business success and prospect. There are many methods aimed at increasing business prospects and turnover for corporate, retail outlets, hotels and restaurants through Compass formulae, orientations, and advanced Fengshui methods.

Let us remember the basic fact that, be it Vaasthu or Fengshui, it can only harmonize your place of work or dwelling and for sure improve the quality of life. Most often this is mistaken to be a remedy for changing "destiny" or something which can control "birth and death". If only Vaasthu or Fengshui could offer immunity to these Laws of Nature then all of us would live for eternity. Vaasthu or Fengshui is an excellent tool to enhance our skills and ability to "think better, work better" and it is impossible to locate a 100% Vasthu perfect or Fengshui perfect dwelling.

The Taiwan 's capital Taipei , has many high rise buildings, housing leading corporate houses, Banks and world conglomerates incorporating Fengshui features. One would observe that the most common and basic affliction like sharp corners do not exist, all edges are rounded and most important the buildings have revolving doors which are excellent purveyors of positive chi. Apart from these basic rules, shapes and forms are given utmost importance. Most important is the assessment of the building with regard to other structures and buildings around it.

Modern structures and constructions for commercial applications form disjointed and ill-planned jumble of varying heights, shapes and sizes creating imbalance and the simplest solution is to plant plenty of healthy good plants or trees to harmonize the space. The trees cause the imbalance to dissipate as the branches and leaves sway in the breeze. Countries like Malaysia especially Kuala Lumpur and Singapore have generous planting of trees on the lines of Fengshui.

In other parts of the world, Fengshui for commercial buildings has been adapted quite intelligently to the benefit of the occupants. The Trans America Building in San Francisco shaped in the form of an arrow tip but soaring upwards represents rapid growth. The Sydney Opera House an example of modern architecture does come under the purview of Fengshui principles and its rounded shell shaped roofs resemble the cosmic dragon. More important is the location of the Opera House surrounded by the protective and auspicious water of Sydney harbor. Now to mention about Bad Fengshui, a classic example is the Lloyd's Insurance Building in London which has its drainage pipes exposed on the outside of the building and structurally the building has a heavy-top denoting imbalance from Fengshui point of view.

The general guidelines for an office building are to avoid main door or foyer area cramped and should be well lit. Doors within the office should also be staggered to meander the Chi and not be in a straight line. Avoid main doors facing rows of elevators.
